I've been coming to this place for many years now, with a group of friends and family members. It's located at the top of the skiing piste with a great view all around. Inside is a restaurant with delicious, local food (you simply have to try their legendary Kaiserschmarren!). The atmosphere is informal and relaxed. I can fully recommend making a stop (or better, many stops) here when visiting Nesselwängle.
We slept in multiple mountain huts during our hiking holiday in Austria and this was by far our favorite. The place is a bit rough but this is something you can expect from a mountain hut. The food was amazing. Very generous! The owner makes his own cheese, honey and marmalade. Great selection of beverages including some really specials schnapps. Friendly staff! Not too expensive.
Small and basic Hütte. Stayed here during a hiking trip. The food was delicious and the people very friendly! The owner even spent some time giving us tips for the hiking trail of next day. Beds are basic and the wooden construction is noisy but we loved our time there!
Great place to stay for a night stay during a hiking tour. Great staff, really good (or even best) food and perfect view!

The Krinnenalpe is always worth a trip, summer and winter. We were here with the children, the climb on foot is also easy for smaller children from around 3-4 years old. It took us around 1.5 hours with breaks to climb around 390 meters in altitude.
The food on the Alpe is really good and has been for many years! The portions are very decent!
From here there are many options for hiking further, for example up to the Krinnenspitze.
Unfortunately, the lift is currently not in operation, as of February and August 2023.

Unfortunately I cannot confirm the reviews. At least not when it comes to service. If a guest returns a drink because it is not cold, (Dear reader, we certainly agree that an Almdudler must be served cold, ideally ice-cold. It is noticeable at 33 degrees that the air condenses on the outside of the bottle.) He definitely doesn't want a sentence like:
“It’s cold, it came from the fridge”, but simply receive a new, really cold Almdudler drink or simply hear: “Sorry, but they just went into the fridge, can I offer you something else?”
Of course, it could also be that the Krinnenalpe no longer needs it. Then of course I understand the employee.
